Dead, sticky or self-typing keys make a laptop hard to use, even when everything else works. At Simplus Technology, 76 Zik Avenue, Uwani, Enugu, we match the replacement keyboard by part number and layout and test every key before you collect your laptop.

Common keyboard faults

Keys that do not register, keys that repeat or type by themselves, and sticky keys after a spill are all common. A single broken key cap is a different problem from a key that no longer registers, and we check which one you have first.

How we test your keyboard

We test with an on-screen keyboard tester and with an external keyboard. That tells us whether the fault is in the built-in keyboard itself or somewhere else, before any part is ordered or fitted.

Matching layout

UK and US layouts differ (Enter key shape, @ and ” positions). Tell us which one you want; we match the original by default. We also match backlit keyboards and TrackPoint models by part number.

Top-case models

On some models the keyboard is part of the top case. We will tell you if yours is one of those before any work starts. WhatsApp 0803 348 5885 for a free diagnosis and quote, and no work starts until you approve it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you fix just one key?

If only the key cap or clip is broken and we have a matching one, sometimes yes. If the key itself doesn’t register, the keyboard has to be replaced.

I spilled a drink and now some keys don’t work. What should I do?

Switch it off and bring it in. The liquid may have reached the motherboard too.

Why does my new keyboard have a different layout?
